Hip Hop pioneer and legendary New York graffiti artist, Rammellzee, passed away yesterday. Establishing his genre of Gothic Futurism, throughout the 1980’s he was infamous for bombing the walls and New York City subways with his intense works of art. He also became one of the great voices of inner city rap in the 80’s, influencing artist such as the Beastie Boys & Cypress Hill. Continuing on with his music career he became a member of the Death Comet Crew, but eventually went solo and in 2004 released his debut album, Bi-Conicials of Rammellzee. Rammellzee’s cause of death is unknown as of now, but his soul will live on through his many works, which have been shown around the world, and the many artists that he has influenced. RIP Rammellzee 1960-2010

Vogue Hommes JAPAN. Gaga in DRAG.

Take a look at these new photos released by SHOWstudio.com today of model “Jo Calderone” on set of a shoot for Vogue Hommes Japan. Press is speculating whether or not this is Gaga, but many Gaga fan-sites agree that it is. “Jo” is her alter ego a la Sasha Fierce.

Speaking of alter ego’s, Madonna used to rock as “DITA” in the early 90’s. Check her out here in a 1992 Rolling Stone shoot.

I am a diehard Gaga fan, but enough is enough. Let the OG show ya how it’s done!

THE CREATORS PROJECT

This past weekend the always entertaining, sometimes controversial Vice Magazine teamed up with one of the worlds leaders in computing innovations, Intel, and had a baby. They named it, The Creators Project. The project focuses on the young and upcoming generation of artist. They hope to promote the use of the latest developed technology to expand and advance future artistic visions. Held at the Milk Studios in the meat packing district, this epic event included eight floors of workshops, panel discussions, art works, and amazing live performances by artists like M.I.A, Gang Gang Dance, Mark Ronson, and Die Antwoord. Insane!! Insane!!! Insane!! And this was only the BEGINNING of the whole project which continues on through September. So no worries, if you missed it you can just book a quick flight and try to catch the London, Sao Paulo, Seoul, or Beijing events. Or, if you’re like me, and too busy or pretty much too broke you can just check out www.thecreatorsproject.com where they have photos, video footage, and tons of articles about all the rad stuff going down.

A digital séance?!  The Digital Flesh was a performance installation where participants who entered a giant cone had their 3D images scanned and added to the organism above the cone. At the final stop of this journey, in Beijing, the digital scan will be birthed into a sequences recreating the persons 3D figure. PRETTY AWESOME if you ask me!!!

I’ve been riding the Gaga wave for quite sometime now. Of course always being slightly skeptical of this new-comer, but at the end of the day I always kinda liked her. She’s been able to draw inspiration from the best and pull it off in an authentic way. I mean, she did go to the VMA’s with Kermit. Pretty awesome.

However, since I’ve spent a lifetime subscribing to the gospel that is MADONNA. I just want to remind all you youngins’ where Gaga’s getting all her awesomeness. I’m posting this video as a reflection and recognition. As long as we all know, this isn’t NEW.  Madonna did it first. Madonna did it better. But I’m not mad at Gaga for trying.

Sounds Like PAPER 2010 with Drake, Hanson, and Ninjasonik

CUNTYYY KIDDIES.

Im actually not even all that surprised that The FRESH Prince of Bel Air, Will Smith, and the gorgeous Jada Pinkett produced such adorable children. But, unlike all the other cute little Hollywood kids running around L.A. these kids are super CUNTY. And I’m loving it. These pics are from the movie premiere of The Karate Kid, which Jaden Smith stars in. I’m pretty sure we’ll see a lot more from these two in the coming years.
